Settle privacy policy
Last updated August 22, 2026.
Settle helps small groups make a decision. It is built to know as little as possible about you.
What we store
- Decisions you create: the question, the options, an optional head count, and when it was created.
- Answers: for each option, whether it works for you and whether it is your favorite, plus an optional first name and a random device identifier so you can change your answer later. Answers are stored under that random identifier, not under an account. There are no accounts.
- What other people see: totals only (how many people an option works for, how many starred it) and the first names of people who have answered. Nobody, including the person who created the decision, can see how any individual answered.
What we do not do
- No sign up, no email, no phone number, no contacts access.
- No advertising, no tracking, no analytics SDKs, no selling of data.
- No location: "Open in Maps" hands the chosen option's name to the Maps app on your device.
Purchases
The optional Settle Plus unlock is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts so the unlock can be restored on your devices. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Hosting and retention
Decision data is stored on Netlify in the United States. Anyone with a decision link can view the totals for that decision. Decisions may be deleted after a period of inactivity. To have a decision removed sooner, email us with the link.
Children
Settle is not directed at children under 13.
